Our Beliefs

We come together on Sunday mornings to focus on God, learn from Jesus Christ’s example, refresh in Holy Spirit’s guidance, and fellowship together.

God

There is One God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19 (NIV) “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The Virgin Birth

The Lord Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary and conceived of the Holy Spirit. He was God made flesh. Born into the world yet without sin.

Luke 1:34 (NIV) “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”

Hebrews 4:14-15 (NIV) “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet he did not sin.”

Philippians 2:7-8 (NIV) “rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death — even death on a cross!

Universal Sin

All have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory and purpose. Through Adam’s sin man became separated from God

Romans 3:22-23 (NIV) “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

Romans 5:12 (NIV) “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in the way death came to all people, because all sinned — “

Salvation

There is only one way for a person to be saved. You must be born again through repenting of your sins and trusting Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Acts 3:18-20 (NIV) “But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer. Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you — even Jesus.”

John 3:3 (NIV) “Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

John 3:16 (NIV) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal live.”

The Bible

We believe the whole Bible. It is the inspiried Word of God. All Scripture is God breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.

2 Timothy 4:15-18 (NIV) “You too should be on your guard against him, because he strongly opposed our message. At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be helf against them. But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

Spiritual Gifts

We believe all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still in operation and have not passed away with the Apostolic age or the canonization of Scripture. The Spirit gives these gifts to each one as He determines.

1 Corinthians 12:1 (NIV) “Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.”

1 Corinthians 12:7 (NIV) “Now to each one of the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”

1 Corinthians 12:11 (NIV) “All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.”

The Promise

One day Jesus will return to gather together all who have trusted Him as Lord and Savior, The dead will rise, the living will be caught up with them and we will be with the Lord forever.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 (NIV) “According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.”
